Tetris fabric - new and improved!

Remember when I released the Tetris fabric design file under a Creative Commons license? I was secretly hoping that people would not just use the fabric, but also take the idea and run with it. And so they have! Well, at least one person has.

Jennifer has made some improvements to the design (wider repeat, better edge treatment, 58" width) and a coordinating fabric to match!

She has released her files under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike license too! Or you can purchase fabric through her Spoonflower profile. All the details are on Jennifer's LiveJournal page. (Note: Jennifer's Spoonflower account is completely separate from mine, and what she does with her commission from her fabrics is totally up to her.)

So far my lowly original version of the file has raised almost $40 for FIRST. Even if that's all I make from sales, I'm glad I decided to donate it to a good cause. I wonder how many robot parts that will buy for the kids?

Also, there are far too many people with the name Jennifer-Jenny-Jen in my generation. Really.

Growing up with an incredibly common name was never fun - there were always three or four other kids in my classes with me name. Personally, I hated it, and have considered using a different name, but ... it's my name, not just how people know me.

I'm really happy with how my project came out, too. First (well, second - I did a test on cheaper fabric first) project in years. Just pants, and fairly simple ones, but they look awesome (IMO ;-)

I honestly don't know what I'll do with any profits - part of me doesn't actually expect any, and that isn't the reason I did this. I just wanted awesome pants for a party. ;-)

Thank you very much for the original version and the inspiration to design my own version and the impetus to pull my sewing machine out again.

I read about this a while back, and thought it was magical, I went to download it, and somehow something failed and I couldn't. This reminds me to try again. Thanks for sharing! I'm envisioning a tunic type dress.

Jennifer was a very common name for our age group in the USA; less so in Australia, if that's any consolation! I seem to encounter so many Sarahs and Kates/Cathys/Catherines (etc) - and I am both of those. :)

Spoonflower is wonderful, isn't it?
